Can You Share Swoodie Premium With Your Partner? How the Premium Invite Works
By Daniel · · 4 min read

The question comes up in nearly every message from couples: “If I buy Premium, does my partner get it too?” The straight answer is no. A Swoodie Premium plan is for one person, on one account. What we have added is a way to bring your partner along at a lower price — and it is worth understanding exactly how it works before you count on it.
The short version
A paying Premium member can send one invitation. The person who accepts buys their own yearly Premium at a lower price. You do it together, but it is two separate subscriptions on two accounts, not one shared plan.
Who can invite
- A paying Premium member. Not someone on a free trial, and not a Swoodie Lite owner — the invitation is for people who are already paying for Premium.
- One person, once. You get a single invite code, ever. Choose who it is for.
How it works
- Open the Invite screen in the app and share your link. It looks like
swoodie.app/duo/…and takes them to the app or the store. - The person you invited opens the link and sees their own price — a lower price than the standard yearly plan. It is set per country, so we do not quote a number here; the app shows their price before they buy.
- They buy their own yearly Premium. The invited plan has no free trial.
What stays separate
This is the part people get wrong, so it is worth being blunt. Premium is not a family plan, a shared plan or a two-person plan. Each of you has your own account, your own subscription, your own calorie and macro goals and your own food log.
- Each of you manages your own subscription. Yours is bought, renewed and cancelled by you; theirs by them.
- If one of you stops paying, the other is unaffected. Cancel yours and their Premium keeps running, and the other way round.
- Nothing is merged. Premium features you use on your phone do not switch on for them, and the other way round — each plan unlocks only the account that bought it.
What if you only want to share the cooking?
Plenty of couples do not need two Premium plans. The shared features — a Nest with one pantry, one meal plan and one de-duplicated shopping list, Swipe Together sessions that pick dinner, a Wellness Journey, a Fast Together pairing — need just one of you on a paid plan (Swoodie Lite, a one-time purchase, is enough); the other person joins free. The Premium invite is for the case where you both want the paid features on your own phones. See the best meal-planning apps for couples for the wider picture, or how Swoodie works for couples.
Common questions
Can I invite more than one person? No. One invite, one person, once.
Can I invite someone while I am on a free trial? No. The invite is for paying Premium members.
Will my partner see my food log? No. Two subscriptions mean two separate accounts. What you choose to share, such as a Wellness Journey, works the same as it does for any couple.
Try Swoodie free on iOS or Google Play. The Premium invite is available to paying Premium members inside the app.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share my Swoodie Premium with my partner?
No. A Premium plan is for one person on one account. What a paying Premium member can do is invite one person, once, to their own yearly Premium at a lower price — two separate subscriptions on two accounts.
Who can send a Premium invite?
Only a paying Premium member — not someone on a free trial and not a Swoodie Lite owner. You get one invite code, ever, for one person.
Does the invited person get a free trial?
No. The invited plan is a yearly Premium at a lower price, with no free trial. The price is set per country and is shown in the app before they buy.
What happens if one of us stops paying?
Nothing happens to the other person. The two subscriptions are independent: each of you manages your own, and cancelling one does not affect the other.
