About Swoodie
An indie meal app built solo from Poland — for the moments when the question “what’s for dinner?” feels harder than it should.
Hi, I’m Daniel
Hi, I’m Daniel — the person behind Swoodie. I’m based in Poland, and I’ve been working on Swoodie solo since January 2026. I’m not a venture-backed team or a nutrition company — just one developer who got tired of juggling a calorie counter, a recipe app, and a meal planner that didn’t talk to each other, and decided to build the one app I actually wanted.
Why I built Swoodie
Most calorie counters track but don’t help you cook. Most recipe apps cook but don’t track. Most meal planners assume you eat alone. I wanted one app that did all three — and one that worked for cooking together with a partner instead of optimising for solo logging.
Swoodie is the result: an AI meal planner and calorie tracker for couples that scans food, recommends recipes, and helps you decide what to cook together. Snap a photo to log a meal, swipe recipes with your partner until you both land on dinner, plan the week ahead, and keep the shared side of cooking in one place — with a partner, a household, or solo.
How Swoodie is funded
Swoodie is funded by the people who use it — no investors, no ads, no data sales. There’s a free tier to start, and a Premium subscription that adds the AI features — and you can try the AI free, no card, before you decide. Prefer to pay once instead of subscribing? Swoodie Lite is a one-time purchase ($9.99) that unlocks the whole app except the AI features.
What’s next
Swoodie ships updates regularly, shaped by what users ask for. If you want to weigh in on what’s next, my email is below.
