Welcome to Swoodie. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Swoodie mobile application and the website swoodie.app (the “Service”), operated by Swoodie (“we”, “our”, “us”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Swoodie.
2. Account
- Swoodie creates an anonymous account for you automatically. No email or password is required.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and on your device.
- If your device is lost or reset, your anonymous account and locally stored data may not be recoverable.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Upload malicious code, spam, or harmful content
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without our written consent
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
- Attempt to manipulate or abuse AI features (such as prompt injection)
- Circumvent subscription restrictions or premium feature gates
- Share subscription access with others beyond intended use
- Abuse rate limits or attempt to overload our services
Content Moderation
- User-generated content (ratings, comments) may be reviewed for compliance with these Terms.
- We reserve the right to remove content that is offensive, spam, contains harmful advice (e.g., dangerous food preparation instructions), or violates these Terms.
- AI-generated content is filtered through safety checks including prompt injection defense, output validation, and ingredient sanitization.
- If your content is removed, you will not be individually notified unless the removal results in account action.
- To report inappropriate content, contact support@swoodie.app.
4. Recipes and Content
Third-Party Recipe Data
Swoodie sources recipe data from third-party providers. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of recipe content, including nutritional information. You are responsible for verifying ingredients for allergens and dietary restrictions before cooking or consuming any recipe.
AI-Generated Content
AI-generated recipes, meal plans, and nutritional estimates (from Chef AI, recipe variations, AI nutrition estimation, Swoodie Scan photo analysis, and meal planning) are provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional nutritional or medical advice. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, including incorrect nutritional values, allergen information, or ingredient quantities. We are not responsible for any adverse effects, allergic reactions, health issues, or other consequences resulting from following AI-generated recipes, meal plans, or nutritional estimates. Always verify ingredients and nutritional data if you have specific dietary requirements or health conditions.
User-Generated Content
By submitting content (such as ratings and comments), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service. You retain ownership of your content.
5. Swipe Together
Swipe Together allows you to create sessions and invite others to collaboratively discover recipes. Creating a session requires a Swoodie Premium subscription. Joining a session with a code is available to all users. You are responsible for sharing session codes only with intended participants.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
- Swoodie offers a free tier and a premium subscription (“Swoodie Premium”).
- The free tier includes usage limits (30 swipes per day, 20 saved favorites).
- Swoodie Premium unlocks additional features including AI Kitchen (Meal Planner, Chef AI, Swoodie Scan, Top AI Recipes), Together Mode session creation, Recipe Variations, advanced dietary and nutrition filters, meal type filters, alcohol exclusion, full translations into supported languages, and unlimited favorites.
- Premium subscriptions are available as monthly ($9.99/month) or yearly ($99.99/year) plans. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.
- Promotional and discounted offers may be available from time to time. These offers are applied at checkout and are subject to their own terms.
- Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Billing, renewals, and refunds are governed by the respective app store’s terms.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device’s app store settings.
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google.
Refund Policy
- All subscription payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests must be submitted directly to the respective store:
- We do not process refunds directly as we do not handle payment information.
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.
- If a technical issue on our end prevents you from accessing premium features for an extended period (more than 72 hours), contact support@swoodie.app and we will work with you on a resolution, which may include extending your subscription period.
- Promotional pricing (such as discounted yearly plans) is non-transferable and applies only to the billing period purchased.
Free Trial
- If a free trial is offered, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled.
- Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.
- Each Apple ID or Google account is eligible for one free trial per subscription group.
Feature Availability
- Premium features may be modified, added, or removed at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain core functionality.
- Feature availability depends on third-party service availability (recipe databases, AI models, translation services).
- Service interruptions caused by third-party outages do not entitle users to refunds.
- Premium swipe limits are quota-based and dependent on third-party API availability, not unlimited.
7. Intellectual Property
The Swoodie name, logo, design, and all associated intellectual property are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SWOODIE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amounts you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Poland.
11b. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@swoodie.app to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will endeavor to respond within 14 business days.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days:
EU/EEA Users: You may submit a complaint to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ or to your local consumer protection authority.
All Users: Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Poland, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
Class Action Waiver: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class or collective actions.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13b. Accessibility
Swoodie is committed to making our app and website accessible to all users. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
Current accessibility features:
- VoiceOver / TalkBack support for recipe navigation
- Text-to-speech cooking mode with per-step audio
- Dark mode / Light mode / System preference support
- Adjustable text in recipe cards
Known limitations:
- Some AI-generated content may not have optimized screen reader descriptions
- Swipe gestures in the discovery screen require alternative tap-based controls (available via on-screen buttons)
