Welcome to Swoodie. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Swoodie mobile application and the swoodie.app website (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Swoodie (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

a) Third-Party Recipe Data

Swoodie uses recipe data provided by third-party services including Spoonacular. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or nutritional information of any recipe. Always verify ingredients for allergens and dietary restrictions before cooking.

b) AI-Generated Content

Swoodie’s Chef AI and AI Variation features generate recipe suggestions using artificial intelligence. AI-generated recipes are provided for informational purposes only. We are not responsible for any adverse effects resulting from following AI-generated recipes. Always use your own judgment when preparing food.

c) User-Generated Content

By submitting ratings, comments, or other content through the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service. You retain ownership of your content.

5. Swipe Together

The Swipe Together feature allows users to create sessions and invite others to match on recipes. You are responsible for sharing session codes only with intended participants. We are not responsible for any disputes arising from shared sessions.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Swoodie may offer premium features through paid subscriptions. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing cycles will be clearly presented before purchase. Payments are processed through the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). Refund policies are governed by the applicable app store’s terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Swoodie name, logo, design, and all associated intellectual property are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property without prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Swoodie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Canada.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
