Swoodie vs Bevel

Bevel alternative for Android — the food half, on the phone you own

Bevel is iPhone-only, so on Android there is nothing to install. Swoodie replaces the nutrition tab Bevel treats as a side feature — not its wearable dashboard.

The bottom line

These two aren't quite the same tool. Bevel is a wearable-health dashboard with a nutrition tab; Swoodie is a recipe-and-cooking app with calorie tracking built in. Bevel needs a watch — and a CGM, if you want the blood-sugar half; Swoodie needs neither, and reads a meal's likely blood-sugar impact from the food itself, free. If meals are the job, and a couples mode and Android matter, Swoodie fits; if whole-body wearable insight is the job, Bevel does what Swoodie doesn't.

If you came here looking for Bevel on Android, the short answer is that it does not exist. Bevel ships on iPhone only — its own site offers an iOS download and nothing else, and an Android version has sat on Bevel's public feature-request board without a release date. So the useful question is not which app is Bevel for Android, but which part of Bevel you want back.

Worth saying plainly before you download anything: Swoodie does not replace the wearable side. Sleep, recovery, strain and biological-age scores read off an Apple Watch or Oura ring are Bevel's core, and Swoodie has none of it — if that is what you are after, a dedicated wearable app is the right answer, not this one. What Swoodie does replace is the nutrition tab, and it replaces it with a great deal more than a tab.

Bevel is an all-in-one health coach. It pulls sleep, recovery, strain and biological-age data from your Apple Watch (or Oura, Garmin, Amazfit) and turns it into one readable picture. Nutrition sits inside that as a tab — meal logging, a barcode scanner, AI photo recognition, free macro targets in grams, and a Nutrition card you can share.

The sharpest difference is hardware. Bevel can show how a meal affected your blood sugar, but only if you wear a CGM — without one, its nutrition score falls back to food-quality factors. Swoodie needs no device: scan a meal and it returns a Blood Sugar Score estimated from that meal's own carbs and fibre — steady, moderate or spiky — free on every plan, and Smart Swaps turns a spiky meal into a steadier version of itself in one tap (Premium). (An estimate and a tracking signal, not a medical reading.)

And Swoodie works the other way round from Bevel: it is built for the kitchen. Browse and filter an 8,000+ recipe library for free, generate recipes with Chef AI, plan the week, and decide dinner with a partner — then track the calories by photo, barcode, a few-second Quick Add, or Food Search across 87,000+ branded foods by name (free, no AI call). Swoodie's AI runs on a 10-use free trial (no card), then Premium at $39.99/year, versus Bevel Pro at $99.99/year.

You do not need a wearable subscription to get the glanceable part either. Swoodie reads your steps from Apple Health or Health Connect and tracks step trends, streaks and step badges free on every plan, and its home-screen widget puts any four of seven numbers — calories left, steps, protein, streak and more — on your phone (Lite or Premium). Bevel's dashboard is the product; Swoodie's is a free byproduct of logging your food.

Where Bevel wins

Bevel does something Swoodie does not even attempt: it reads your wearable. Sleep staging, recovery and readiness scores, strain and cardio load, HRV, a strength-training builder with 700+ exercises, biological-age estimates and a place to store lab results — all stitched into one AI health coach. Its nutrition tab is also stronger than most rivals give it credit for: macro targets in grams or percentages are free, and Pro adds daily check-ins. If a wearable-driven view of your whole body is what you want, Bevel is genuinely strong, with 1M+ members and a 4.8-star rating.

Stay with Bevel if…

you want a wearable-driven health coach for sleep, recovery, strain and biological age, you are happy on Apple devices, and nutrition can stay a secondary tab.
